Blaze at Newton. —The walls of one room and some bedding were destroyed when a fire broke out shortly after 10 a.m. yesterday in a house in Howe Street, Newton, owned by Mr. R. Reid and occupied by Mrs. Wylie. The outbreak was caused through a candle setting alight to some curtains. The house is insured for £250 in the London and Lancashire Office and the contents for £IOO with the Standard Company.
