“FAUST” TO-NIGHT “Faust” will be shown at the Capitol Theatre for three days only. F. W. Murnau, famous for his wonderful direction in “The Last Laugh,” has
for this great masterpiece. The part of Mephisto has been created by Emil Jannings, who is recognised today as the world’s leading screen character player. Marguerite is in the capable hands of Camilla Horn, a beautiful newcomer to the screen: and G o e s t a Bkman plays the title role 1 of “Faust”; while
that incomparable artist, Yvette Guilbert, the world-famous chanteuse, appears as Martha. Hans Keyser, who wrote the ario, has gone back to the very sources to which Goethe turned when he wrote his poetical drama; and while the author of the film story follows tne original drama in many essential points —for instance, the wonderfully dramatic story of Marguerites’ love adventure, his version deviates in many respects from that of the great classical poet.
