FIRM APPRECIATES FIRE BRIGADE’S WORK

TIMBER YARD CONFLAGRATION Appreciating the risks and arduous labours of the fire-fighters in the recent blaze in their timber yard and factory, Messrs. Henderson and Pollard have written the following letter to the Mount Eden Fire Brigade through the Borough Council. It is addressed to the Town Clerk of Mount Eden, and is signed by the secretary of the company: “At a meeting of the directors of Henderson and Pollaxd, Ltd.. I was directed to forward a letter of appreciation of the splendid service rendered by your fire brigade in our recent disastrous fire. They cannot speak too highly of the way the brigade stuck to their task under the frightful heat and other difficult circumstances. “They would be pleased if you wc-uld convey this message to the brigade, and have much pleasure in enclosing cheque for £lO for the brigade funds.”
