MOTOR-TRUCK CRASHES THROUGH PICKET FENCE

CHINESE DRIVER SHAKEN CELESTIAL CALM RUFFLED An empty motor-truck driven by Kwong Lee, market gardener, was attempting to turn among heavy traffic in Queen Street, Onehunga, this morning, when it crashed through a picket fence and dropped four feet into Mrs. Parker’s garden. . The Chinaman was trying to avoid another car and ran his car across the footpath, demolishing a portion of the fence. In its short career the truck narrowly missed several pedestrians. No one was injured and the driver got out of his damaged vehicle badly shaken and displaying little of the Oriental calm usually associated with his nation. The truck was later hauled out by another lorry.
