TIVOLI
DOUBLE FEATURE BILL ~ ;:T™° To Love,” starring Raymond urtftith’ was shown at the Tivoli theatre last night, and proved extremely amusing to the large audience present. Events leading up to the hilarious climax of “Time To Love” are very laugh-provoking. Griffith portrays a Frenchman who falls in love with a young countess, who believes in spiritualism. He finds his best friend loves her too, and believes she loves the other fellow'. So Griffith agrees to be “killed” in a fake duel, promising never to return. However, when lie falls on the field of honour, Ray discovers that she really loves him. Honour-bound not to come back, he evades the promise by appearing as a spirit. The deception is discovered, and he is turned over to the gendarmes. By escaping he returns again just in time to flee with the girl. Their escape leads to the balloon basket. William Powell plays the “other man,” dastardly Marquis d’Dado. Frank Tuttle, maker of “Kid Boots” and a dozen other clever comedies, directed “Time To Love.” “Man Power” is the story of a man, a maid, and a tractor. How he drove the tractor into the breach of a crumbling dam, and saved a town from destruction, is the thrilling background for one of the greatest romances that the screen has seen. Richard Dix is the man, “Man Power” is the picture, and Mary Brian is the girl. This Paramount picture is also being shown at Everybody’s Theatre.
