THREE TRAINS CRASH

SHEEP AND PIGS MOWN DOWN SENSATIONAL COLLISION By Cable.—Press Association. Copyright. PERTH, Thursday. There was a sensational railway collision on the main Perth to Fremantle line, six miles from Perth, early this morning, which resulted in the derailment of 13 fully-laden trucks and the death of a large number of stock. The train, when approaching Swanbourne; was crashed into by another train. Just as the debris was being dragged clear of. the line, a third train crashed into the wreckage. All the engines remained on the line, but the trucks of the first two trains were telescoped. The force of the impact was so severe that the sides of the trucks were burst open. This released droves of sheep and pigs, many of which were mowed down by the third train. It was many hours before normal traffic waS resumed.—A. and N.Z.
