ESCAPADE APPEAL
DISMISSED BY N.Z.T.A. Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. At a special meeting of the N«* Zealand Trotting Association to-day Messrs. W. G. Deyell and F. A. owners of the mare Escapade, appeal* l against th© New Brighton Club’s derision in dismissing a protest against the conditions imposed by the bandicapper in connection -with the New Brighton Handicap on December hand also against the moneys beini paid out to th© placed horses. Th© appeal was dismissed, but thprotest fee was ordered to be refunded, owing to th© fact that the appeal b*“ been lodged with a view to ventilating th© matter and not to claim the stake. The race was for unhoppled trotters. 4.42 class, with lOsec limit, and it w» s alleged the handicapper, Mr. Brinsman, had altered the class of the rac and in so doing had treated E sea pan* with undue severity.
