“THE LAST OUTLAW” Gary Cooper’s latest Paramount vehicle, “The Last Outlaw,” heads the varied. programme at Everybody's Theatre this week. Director Arthur Rosson has created a worthy successor to “Arizona Bound” in his picturisation of the Richard Allen Gates story. And the sam trio which had so much to do with the success of the earlier picture —Cooper. Betty Jewel and Flash, the wonder horse—orice more appear together. In addition, Jack Luden, a handsome youngster who is soon slated for stardom, enacts a featured role. Gary’s initial job as sheriff in a bandit-ridden town is to capture the killer of the man who preceded him in office. Gary discovers that lie is Betty’s brother, Jack Luden. On the ! way back with Luden his prisoner gets i shot. Betty informs Gary in no uncertain tones that she hates him. The ranchers steal their own cattle from the rustlers, and a terrific battle occurs with the cows between both parties continually stampeding in all directions. It is in this sequence that Gary once more rescues Miss Jewel, this time from •the path of a maddened animal. Douglas Mac Lean is featured in “Let It Rain” on the same programme.
