Keen Yacht Racing at Victoria Regatta

IDEAL sailing conditions ninety boats take part Nearly 90 yachts and launches took t>art in the Victoria Cruising Club’s annual regatta on tho harbour this afternoon. \ good sailing breeze came down from °tho south-west and some keen racing was seen in most classes. The event for C and E class keelers attracted nine entries and the list of competitors in all except the event for -2-footers was larger than that 0 £ last year. Tho courses were as follows: Keel and H, L. and N Classes. —From flagship and mark moored south, round Resolution buoy on port hand, round white light in Rangitoto Channel starboard hand, back round Resolution buoy on starboard hand, round black buoy off Birkenhead on starboard hand and finish at flagship. V S M. T, X and Y Classes.—From flagship and mark moored south, thence round buoy oft tide deflector, round buoy in Shoal Bay. thence round mark Off Watchman, keeping channel side off Pile Beacon, twice round. Z class boats went round the above course onco only. Launches. —From flagship and mark moored south, thence round Pile Beacon. off Chelsea, thence round outer pile*, off Bayswater, thence round mark moored off tide deflector, finishing at flagship. The officials in charge of the racing were: Starter. Mr. O. Johnson; judge, Mr. XV. Matthews; timekeepers, Messrs. J. O’Sullivan. H. Crowl and J. McGehan.
