S.P.C.A. MEETING

NEW APPOINTMENTS Excellent progress in the humane branch of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was reported at the monthly meeting of that body held yesterday. During the month the inspector had covered a large area, and many warnings had been given. One case had been taken before the court and the society had succeeded in the prosecution. Miss P. H. Dawson and Mr. H. N. Carbury were appointed honorary veterinary surgeons for the forthcoming year, and the list of honorary inspectors was further supplemented by the inclusion of Messrs. T. Hall, of Whangarei, and It. H. Sheppard, of Tairua.
