AN APPRECIABLE PROJECT

COME time ago Mr. J. A. Mitchell, the well-known light Harness enthusiast, of Longburn, and owner of those fine pacers. Loch Moigh and Padlock, instituted a move in the direction of establishing annual sales of yearling and two-year-old trotting stock. The project has now reached consummation and the sales will be held annually at Wellington by Messrs. Wright, Stephenson and Company. The decision to centralise the sales at Wellington has met with the approval of leading breeders in all parts of the Dominion, as the same natural advantages that have assisted the success of the thoroughbred sales there apply both to breeders and buyers of trotting stock. Very up-to-date arrangements for the conduct of the sales are to be made.
