ACTIVITIES WEEK BY WEEK

The Auckland Automobile Association is holding a motor outing next Saturday afternoon to celebrate the completion of the concreting of the Great South Road. Members’ cars will lino up behind the car of the president, which leaves the Harp of Erin at 2 p.m. Bunting will be displayed along the road by the residents and local bodies, and members are asked to display bunting on their cars. The association’s colours are yellow and black . A gymkhana will be held at the railway reserve, Papakura, the proceeds of which are to be contributed to the Great South Road Beautifying Society. Great credit is due to the local bodies concerned for their work in establishing the concrete highway between Auckland and Papakura. ROAD MAP AVAILABLE After several unavoidable delays the motorists’ North Island road map published by the Auckland Automobile Association is now available. This work is a really excellent publication, and a copy should be obtained by every motorist.

For the purposes of the map, the North Island has been divided into eight sections, each of which overlaps the others, and fo.r each of which a complete map is printed.
