TWO CARS STOLEN

ONE RECOVERED

Two motor-cars were reported stolen from city streets yesterday afternoon, but one of them was found only a few yards from where it had been originally parked. Fortunately for the owner this car had not been disturbed, as a bag in the car contained a cheque book.

The car which has not been discovered is an Austin belonging to Mr. William H. Doubleday. It was taken from outside the petrol station of Wilson and Rothersy, Great South Road, Ellerslie, yesterday afternoon, abDut 6 o’clock.

It is a five-seater oar, bearing the number 9-254, and is painted green. The other car belonged to Mr. G. R. Allen, of 20 Bracken Avenue, Epsom. It was found in Fort Street and had not been damaged in any way.
