ONE TREE HILL

ROAD BOARD MEETING

The building inspector reported to the One Tree Hill Road Board last evening that 15 \building permits for dwellings, shops, etc., had been issued since November 9, the total value being £9,916 10s. The noxious weeds inspectors reported that they had -sent out 155 notices to clear noxious weeds, mostly in the Penrose district.

The District Land Registrar wrote stating that the names of Botha Road and Fairfax Avenue wanted transposing. The chairman, Mr. R. G. Clark, stated that about three years ago when the nameplates were being erected a mistake was made, the Botha Road plate being placed on Fairfax Avenue and the Fairfax Avenue plate on Botha Road. It was decided that the name-plates be placed on the correct streets.

A letter was received from Mr. J. P. Howden, expressing thanks to the fire brigade for their services at a fire on his property. He stated that the brigade, which is a volunteer one, replied to the alarm very promply and effected a wonderful save.
