ACCEPT IN GOOD TIME

A STITCH in time saves nine, and an acceptance handed to Secretary Mabee in time will save a lot of disappointment to owners later on. With such excellent prizes being distributed by the Auckland Trotting Club for its Christmas fixture, no owner should miss any of the plums through neglecting the first essential of general acceptance day—being in time. Several cases have been known where lateness in the receipt of a message has caused much heart-burning in trotting circles, but to be “forewarned is to be forearmed/’ and owners with prospective candidates for Auckland should profit by the experience of those who missed the bus. Precisely at 5 o'clock to-morrow, Friday, evening, Mr. A. G. Mabee will lock the acceptance box, so the wise ones will take the hint to be there in good time.
