RACING AT MURIWAI
OPEN EVENT FOR TOURERS GOOD MEETING PROMISED j The programme for the motor racing jat Muriwai next February has now ! ben drawn up, and attention is specially drawn to the open race for private touring cars. Private owners should have no hesitancy in entering in this race for there are no turns, and efficient handicapping will ensure an equal chance to all. This year’s meeting can be made into a delightful picnic outing, as special arrangements are being made for the comfort of motorists. For one thing, the Automobile Association is requesting permission from the local Domain Board to exercise control over the beach the day before the races. By this means it is hoped to prevent people camping anywhere, and enable the officials to lay out parking places in a proper manner. Careful parking means that all cars can leave quickly right after the races are over. The dust nuisance on the road will also disappear this year as a promise has been given by the Waitemata County Council that the roads to Muriwai will be metalled and in good order by February.
