Bigamy Alleged.—Kevin Francis Burns, aged 24, charged at the Police Court to-day with bigamy, was remanded for a week. Stolen Skates. Harry William Smith, aged 21, was fined £ 4 at the Police Court to-day for stealing a pair of roller-skates valued at 255. Found Dead in Bed.—David Whittet, aged 60, a Dunedin tailor, was found dead in bed at 10.30 yesterday morning with a gas tube under the bed clothes and the gas turned on.—Press Association. New College Hostel.—The Government has approved the erection of a new technical college hostel at Wanganui. The new structure is to be erected on a large holding comprising over six acres, and the work will proceed without delay. More Power.—The resident engineer, Mr. F. J. H. Wilson, reported to the Waitemata Power Board this morning that power was now available along the whole route of the Henderson Valley lines. The electric stove was popular on the North .Shore and the city showroom had had its best month since being opened. Mount Stanley Baldwin.—As a perpetual memorial of the visit of the British Prime Minister to Canada, a peak in the Canadian Rockies along the Yellow Head Pass, towering 11,000 feet high, has been named Mount Stanley' Baldwin. This peak may be seen by tourists travelling across Canada via Jasper National Park.
