TIVOLI

“THE PRAIRIE KING” “The Prairie King,” featuring Hoot Gibson, is being shown at the Tivoli Theatre. Filmed under the critical eye of* Reaves Eason, who directed Gibson, and the large supporting cast, including Barbara Worth, in the leading role, this picture moves along in strong, plausible sequences to the final sentimental fade-out. The picture starts out with the colourful scenes of a typical Spanish fiesta in a border town, where time has wrought a fusion of Latin temperament and American speed and progress. While the festivities are going on, the majesty of the law moves ponderously and slowly in the offices of Jim Gardner, the local legal light, who is revealing the contents of a will, naming three persons, each unknown to the other, as the heirs to a rich gold mine the estate of old Abner Perrigo, to whom they had once shown small kindnesses. The story builds up logically, with the locale and action adding colour to the picture.
