RELIGIOUS SCRUPLES AND SUNDAY GOLF
ACTION IN WALES JUDGE’S CAUSTIC RETORT By Cable.- —Press Association. — Copyright. LONDON, Saturday. An attempt by the residents of Aberdovey, Wales, to prevent Sunday golf by overcrowding the course and thus rendering play impossible has had a sequel in the Chancery Court. The Golf Club has brought an action, and a Judge has granted an injunction to restrain 16 named residents from going on to the course pending the trial of the action. An affidavit, filed on behalf of the residents, set out that they objected, on religious grounds, to Sunday golf, and asked for the dismissal of the application. The Judge retorted that he did not see why they could not exercise their religious scruples without annoying and interfering with golfers.—A. and N.Z-
