Commissioner James Hay, o£ the Salvation Army, will arrive in Auckland from the Waikato to-morrow.
Dr. J'. A. Lamb, son of Air. and Airs. A. S. J- Lamb, of Penca.no w Avenue. Mount Ede v. has obtained his F.R.C.S. degree at Edinburgh.
Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Rogers will leave Auckland for Wellington, en route to Nelson, to-morrow afternoon.
The Rev. W. J. Hands, a New Zealander, has been appointed Archdeacon of Fiji, says a cable message from Suva.
The Hon W. Stewart, M.L.C., and the Hon. Cl. J. Garland. M.L.C., left for the South by the Limited last evening.
Sir Charles and Lady Holdsworth left Auckland this morning by motor for Wellington, via Waitomo Caves and New Plymouth.
Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Aiken are returning to Wellington by to-night’s Limited. Mr. W. E. Hancock will also return with Mr. Aiken.
Mr. C. E. Smith, of Sydney, a former resident of Auckland, arrived by the Marama yesterday on a -short tour of the Domin'on. He is at the Grand Hotel.
The Rev. A. B. Todd, of Wellington, has been nominated by the Ashburton Presbytery as Moderator of the next General Assembly of the Presbj'terian Church.
Mr. Albert Spencer, president of the Auckland Employers’ Association, left by train for Wellington to attend a meeting of the New Zealand Employers' Federation.
The Rev. J. C. Martin, general secretary of the Australian Baptist Foreign Mission, has arrived in Wellington from Sydney. He will attend the annual conference of the Baptist Union of New Zealand.
Mr. Maurice Ralph, who has just finished a successful tour with Alexander Watson, has received a cable from Messrs. J. and N. Tait. asking him to arrange the publicity of the forthcoming Dominion tour of Joseph Hislop, the famous English tenor, who is at present touring in Australia.
Commander C. G. Tonge, a Government official of the Nyassaland Protectorate, General Africa, has arrived in New Zealand on eight months’ furlough. Ho is accompanied by Airs. Tonge. Formerly a commander in the Royal Naval Reserve, he was, at the outbreak of the war, sent from England to take command of a vessel on lake Nyassa which the British Government had seized.
