MOUNT EGMONT EVENT AUCKLANDERS’ HANDICAPS IS pedal to THE SUN.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Tuesday. For the road cycle race around Mount Egmont, which is to take place on October 22, late entries, which have increased rapidly, now number 75, a record. The following are the handicaps for the Auckland riders:—J. H. Harcourt (Hamilton East). 18min.; Allen Brennan (Auckland) and G. E. A. Reid (Onehunga), 22min.; W. Renouf (Hamilton). 29min. Scratch men are: W. Mackie, L. W. Hill and C. A.ustin (Christchurch), A. Norwood (Papanui), and C. Parker (New Plymouth). There are five riders on the limit, which is 40min. Last year’s winner, J. Blackwell, is on the 10-minut.e mark. The distance is about 95 miles.
