BED DENNIS, who forms one of the front-rankers in the optriinp event a 4: Alexandra Park next vteekt made an auspicious beginning for his owner-trainer, J. G. Browne, last season. The T« Rapa-trained candidate beat a good field at the Otahuhu fixture, tramping the mile and a-half in 3.45 4-5 from a 3.48 ma*k. He did not go on with the game, however, and although started half a cl oxen times afterwards, failed to earn any money. R«d Dinnia is by Marvin Wilkes from Matakouri, and it will be interesting to sec if he again open* the season in similar fashion.
