WEST COAST MINES’ MOVE

Press Association. HOKITIKA, To-day. With reference to the proposed increase in duty on gold-dredging machinery, further representations are being made . by local bodies to the Government through Mr. T. E. Y. Seddon, member for Westland. It is being urged that dredging machinery and plant should be classed on a tariff the same as other goldmining machinery, and that there should not be any differentiation between the two kinds of machinery' which have the same object, to win gold. Kumara and Greymouth local bodies are also co-operating in the representations.
