RULING ENDORSED

AUCKLAND SOCCER CONTROL MEETING OF A.F.A. At a meeting of the Management Committee of the Auckland Football Associtaion held last evening the New Zealand Council returned an appeal by the North Shore Club against the decision of the Junior Management Committee to replay the championship game between Comrades and North Shore sixth grade teams, for a local decision to be made. It was decided that the junior Management Committee’s ruling should be endorsed. The president, Mr. Menzies, on behalf of the; Management Committee, conveyed good wishes to the Ponsonby Club for its success in the Chatham Cup final, which is to be contested at Wellington next Saturday. Mr. R. Beswick was appointed as the A.F.A. s representative to travel with the Ponsonby team. Mr. Ah Chee made an offer to the committee to arrange a curtain-raiser between two local Chinese teams. 'lt was decided to stage the game at the first opportunity. SHORTAGE OF GROUNDS SHORE GROUNDS IDLE A deputation, consisting of Messrs. J. Williams and XV. Mackenzie, waited on the* Management Committee of the A.F.A. last night in s f pport of a letter from the North Shore Soccer Club. The letter set out that each year the club had been urged by the A.F.A. Jo secure two grounds, and had been put to a heavy expense by way of rent, while at the same time the grounds were rarely used. This season the matches staged for the Shore could all have bem played on the ground, and the club would not only have saved half the ground charges, but the area would have been available for some other sport. The club also complained that a ground was engaged at about noon last Saturday for the naval championship match, transferred from Blandford Park, but only the referee and one player turned up, and no notice had been given of abandonment. On the final day for use of the ground, last Saturday, the referee failed to appear for the one game allotted, so the ground was again idle, and no revenue received. After hearing the delegates in committee, a sub-committee was appointed to go into the matter. SATURDAY’S GAMES The following Soccer matches have been arranged for Saturday: Senior Grade. —Thistle v.
