PETITIONS TO PARLIAMENT REPORTED UPON
(THE SUN'S Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, Thursday. Reports on a considerable number of petitions were presented to the House of Representatives by various committees to-day. The Railways Committee has no recommendation to make on the petition of James Wilson, of Whangarei, who seeks an inquiry into the control of the Whangarei railway bookstall and the right to sell certain articles. The petition of James George Cameron Walters, of Auckland, asking for light employment on account of injury while in the employ of the Railway Department, is referred to the Government for consideration. No recommendation is made on the petitions of Percy James Auger, of Auckland, for a compassionate allowance, and of C. E. Elamerton, of St. Heliers Bay, for compensation.
Consideration of th© Government will be given to the petition of R. W. Quirke and nine others, of Taumarunui, asking for reduction in rent of certain sections.
