“SMITH’S” EDITOR RETIRES (Special to THE SUN.) i SYDNEY, Sept. 8. Mr. Claude McKay, one of the founders of “Smith’s Weekly” and the Sydney “Guardian,” has sold out his entire interest in Smith’s Newspapers, Ltd., retiring | from the board of directors j and from his position of Editor-in-Chief. Negotiations had been in progress for a fortnight. Sir Joynton Smith purchased the holding of Mr. McKay. The amount exceeded £IOO,OOO.
