BRAY’S NEW BUILDING Buoyant confide ice iri the future of Onehunga was. the dominant feature of the big gathering of representative citizen* which as sembled on Tue.sd.ny at the invitation of Messrs. H. Bray and Co., to celebrate the opening of their fine new building in the main street of the western borough. The firm, with generous hospitality, invited a very largo number of guests from all quarters of the city and suburbs. Among these present were Mr. H. Mackenzie, chairman of the Am kland Harbour Board; Mr. Clark, chairman of the One Tree- Hill Road Board Mr. E. H. Potter, Mayor of Mount Eden; Air. Todd. Mayor of Otahuhu Air. S. W. House, Manukau Count: Council: Air. W. Coldicutt, Mayor o Onehunga; and mary other men pro minent in the public life of the City and suburbs. Air George Baildon Mayor of Auckland, and Mr. W. Jordan M.P., were both detained in Wellir.gon, but sent apologies for absence. The function was held in the larg* ciubroom occupying the upper store:

In his reply, Mr. Sutherland declare*' that although the erection of the iu building had meant large expenditure he had confidence that it would be ju: titled in the future, and the sain opinion was expressed by Messrs: II and L. Bray and A. Holdsworth, otl members of the firm.

Other toasts honoured were: Tl. architect, Air. J. Park: the builder. A!; T. Clements; local bodies. Mr. H. Mbkenzie (Auckland Harbour Board) a Air. Todd (Mayor of Otahuhu).
