WAYS OF WEARING NECKLACES
GREEN PEARLS . . . THE IMPORTANCE OF THE CLASP . - . COSTLY PASTE We never seem to tire of our necklaces of pearls or other stones, real or artificial, but we do like to find new ways of stringing and wearing them. One of the latest is to have two strings of pearls on one clasp, one quite tight round the throat and the other hanging half-way to the waist.
Two strings, by the way, seem to be more fashionable than three just now. Beige Pearls We are rather tired of pink pearls, but there are some new colours worn to match summer dresses, blue, green, beige and so on. The brightly-col-oured ones are apt to look a little tawdry and Christmas-crackery, but the beige, which arc a delicate biscuit; shade, are very charming. The Clasp In Front A new idea is to wear the clasp of your necklace in front, which is specially effective in the case of a very large, ornamental clasp. This is not worn closet up to the nock, but a few inches below it. Some of the new clasps are very beautiful, and it is not unusual for the clasp of an imitation pearl necklace to cost £ 2 or £3, when these are carried out in fine paste, marcasite, and such expensive materials.
