SOME HINTS ON CARE AND REPAIRS Cut glass, to be attractive, must be clean and free from any particle of dust. To make it brilliant use a very little blue in the rinsing water beforepolishing with a soft cloth. To Clean Cut Glass Water Bottles Mix some crushed eggshells with salt and warm water and put in the bottle. Shake well, again and again; empty and rinse in cold water to which a little silver sand has been addecL finally rinse through clear cold water. Dry the outside with a cloth free from fluff; give a final polish with a chamois leather and stand the j bottle, neck downwards, in a jug to ! drain. This will ensure brilliant glass. Decanters j Clean these with bits of blown I paper well soaped and rolled up. Put j them into the decanter with warm i water and shake until the stains disappear. Dry and polish, i Small shot is useful for removing • wine stains, but must be used care • j fully lest it scratch the glasu. To Mend Glass ! Melt a small quantity of isinglass jin spirits of wine. Add a little water, and warm gently over moderate heat. When the isinglass is quite dissolved, i it will form a transparent glue which ! will stick broken pieces of glass firmly J together.
