COOK—MILLER

The Presbyterian Church, Thames, was the recent scene of the marriage of Doris, fourth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Miller, of Kopuarahi, Hauraki Plains, and Herbert, only son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Cook, Raglan. The Rev. Cliarteris, of Turua, officiated. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a beautiful gown of bridal satin, with silver trimmings. The skirt was caught to one side with a silver rose, and from it hung a panel lined with shell pink georgette, and embroidered with a silver true-lover’s knot. The wide sleeves were drawn into the wrists with a band, and on the shoulder was a horseshoe of satin, finished with pearls. The usual vgil and orange blossoms were worn, the veil being draped from a fan of silver lace and pearls worn at the back of the head. The beautiful shower bouquet put the finishing touch to a lovely toilet. The bridesmaids, Miss Marjorie Miller, sister of the bride, and Ethel Wheeler, cousin of the bridegroom, wore, respectively, peach and pale green cliarmeuse, trimmed with silver lace and tulle veils caught with a band about the head to form a fan at the back. Each carried a pretty bouquet of pale shades. Mr. Alan Wheeler, cousin of the bridegroom, carried out the duties of best man, and Mr. John Miller, cousin of the bride, was groomsman. After the ceremony the guests were entertained at the Rendezvous, and later left for Hawke’s Bay, where they will reside.
