LYCEUM CLUB PARTY

IN HONOUR OF MISS PARKES Miss Eileen Parkes, whose wedding takes place on September 10, was the guest of the Lyceum Club at a party given in the lounge last evening. The club rooms were prettily decorated with bowls of bright-toned flowers, and on arrival Miss Parkes was presented with a delightful bouquet of pink cyclamen tied with streamers of pink satin. Mrs. B. Buttle, vice-president of the club, in making a presentation of a silver tea and coffee service and oak and silver tray from the members, and a case of silver fish knives and forks from the executive, wished the guest of honour every success and all future happiness. Miss Parkes, In a graceful little speech of thanks, expressed her pleasure at being the guest of honour at the function and at receiving the charming presents from the club. Her mother, Mrs. W. H. Parkes, the president of the Lyceum Club, also spoke briefly, thanking the members for their delightful thought in making Miss Parkes the presentation. During the evening a delightful musical programme was contributed by Miss Maida Hooker, Miss Berta Carr, Mrs. Cyril Towsey, Miss B. Philcox, and Mr. f. McCallum.
