KARTIGI COMING. —The Union Com- j pany advises that the cargo steamer Kartigi. which left Melbourne on Wednesday j afternoon for Auckland, is due here next Thursday, and, after discharge, proceeds ! to Portland to load for Southern ports. j NUCULA FOR OVERHAUL.—The Admiraliy oil-tanker Nucula is to dock for overhaud early in November, and the j sloops Veronica and Laburnum will undergo overhaul the same month. TOFUA LEAVES SUVA.—Cable advice received by the Union Company states tha± the Island passenger steamer Tofua I sailed from Suva at 4.15 p.m. yesterday for Auckland, where she is due on Monday. The vessel is to leave here on Saturday, September 10, on her return trip to the Islands. RIMUTAKA TO COMPLETE.—Leaving Lyttelton to-night for Wellington, the New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Rimutaka will complete her loading there and finally depart on Tuesday next for Southampton and London, via Panama. CAMBRIDGE DUE. —Arriving at Auekland at 5 p.m. to-day from Tokomaru Bay, the Federal steamer Cambridge will berth at the Queen’s Wharf to fill up for America and England. The New Zealand Shipping Company, the local agents, hope to dispatch the vessel from here next Tuesday afternoon. CARGO FOR MONTREAL. —Bringing cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Australia, the New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Dutch steamer Sehouwen is due here next Wednesday from Montreal. PHOSPHATES FOR AUCKLAND.— Advice has been received by Messrs. Henderson and Macfarlane that. the steamer Antinous left Ocean Island for Auckland on August 29. The vessel, which has 7,850 tons of phosphates, all of which will be put out at Auckland, is due next Friday. WEST 'SLIP ARRIVING.—Now due at Auckland at 5 a.m. to-morrow from Pacific Coast ports, the American steamer West Islip will berth at the Prince’s Wharf to unload to the agency of Henderson and Macfarlane. She will later proceed to Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Bluff and New Plymouth to complete. CARGO FROM NEW* YORK. The Commonwealth and Dominion Line steamer Port Curtis is to sail from New York on October 10 with general cargo for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. She is due at Auckland about November 9. ROTORUA FROM HOME. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Rotorua is expected to leave Southamton for Auckland to-day with passengers, mails and cargo. She is due on October 8, and will leave for Wellington about a week later.
HERTFORD FOR NEW ZEALAND.— The local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company has been advised that the Federal steamer Hertford, which leaves Liverpool on November 2 o for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Port Chalmers, will now include New Plymouth as a port of discharge. CANADIAN PROSPECTOR TO LOAD. To complete her loading, the Canadian Government Line advises that the steamer Canadian Prospector leaves Wellington to-night for Auckland. She is due here on Monday and is announced to sail finally from this port on Tuesday for Montreal, via New York and Boston. MAHENO REPORTS. —According to a radio message received by the Union Company, the master of the passenger steamer Maheno expects the vessel to arrive at Auckland at noon to-rnorrnw from Svdney. The Maheno will berth at the Queen’s Wharf and is announced to sail from here at 4 p.m. on Monday on her return trip to Sydney. PORT CAROLINE LOADING. —The Farmers’ Co-op. Auctioneering Company advises that the C. and D. Line’s Port Caroline arrived at Timaru this morning from Bluff and leaves to-morrow for Wanganui, New Plymouth, Auckland, and Wellington to complete her loading for Home. She is due here on September 12 and is scheduled to sail finally from Wellington on September 20 for London, via Cape Horn. RUAHINE’S MOVEMENTS.—The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the liner Ruahine leaves Napier tomorrow for Gisborne and Auckland to fill up for England. The vessel is due here on September 10 and is announced to sail finally from this port on September 17 for Southampton and London, via Pitcairn Island and Panama. SOMERSET REPORTS. —According to a radio message received by the New Zealand Shipping Company, the Federal steamer Somerset: is expected to arrive at Auckland at 5 a.m. on Sunday from Liverpool The vessel has general cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Port Chalmers and Bluff. TAINUI DUE SUNDAY. —To land passengers and mails, the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company has advised L. D. Nathan and Company that the R.M.S. Tainui is expected to arrive at Wellington on Sunday afternoon from London, via Southampton and Panama. The vessel has cargo for discharge at Poi’t Chalmers and Lyttelton. PORT HUNTER AT WANGANUI.— Arriving at Wanganui this morning from Lyttelton, the C. and D. Line’s Port Hunter leaves to-morrow for New Plymouth, Wellington, Napier. Gisborne and Auckland to fill up for Home. She is expected to arrive here on September 15 and it is hoped to dispatch her on September 17 for London, via Cape Horn. Heather, Roberton and Company will act as the local agents for the Port I-lunter. MANUKA’S PASSENGERS.—The Manuka, which arrived at Bluff last Sunday afternoon from Melbourne, brought the following passengers:—For Dunedin: Mrs. Carr, Mr. Dunlop, Mrs. Hartstonge, Mr. and Mrs. Langien, Mr. Lomas, Mr., Mrs. and Miss Story,, Mrs. and Miss Thompson, Mrs. Uglow, and six steerage. For Bluff: Misses Bishop, Mrs. Brown, Mr. Branch, Miss Galbraith, Mr. Hides, Mr. Ingram, Mr. Marlow, Mr. McKay, Mr. McCormick, Mr. Milward, Mr. Osborn, Mrs. Ross-Mitchell, Mr. Riddle. Mr Sykes, and 15 steerage. For Lyttelton: Mesdames Corley, Mr. Mitchell, Sisters Mclntosh and Paroission, and eight steerage. For Wellington: Mrs. and Miss Wills, and 11 steerage. The vessel arrived at Wellington this morning and is scheduled to leave at 3 p.m. to-morrow for Melbourne direct.
