PARLIAMENT’S PROGRESS

LOCAL BILLS’ LAST DAY BUSINESS FOR TO-DAY (THE SUN’S Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. Precedence on to-day’s order paper in the House of Representatives will be given to eight local Bills which have been awaiting consideration for a couple of weeks. This is the last Thursday upon which local Bills will be considered. After that a day for local Bills will have to be arranged with the Government toward the end of the session. Among Government business to be taken at this sitting are the War Disabilities Removal Bill and Savings Bank Amendment Bill, then the two Land and Income Tax Bills, which were introduced on Tuesday evening. Several departmental reports will be in the hands of Alinisters for laying on the table to-day in order that' a way might be paved for discussion on the Estimates.

The Railway Statement is not expected to make its appearance for about three or four weeks.
