BRITISH SPIES TO BE TRIED
SOVIET HOPES THAT ELABORATE SYSTEM WILL BE REVEALED
By Cable. —Press Association. —Copyright Reed. 10.38 a.m. LONDON, Tuesday. The Riga correspondent o£ “The Times” says the Soviet announces a great trial of British spies, beginning with the sitting of the military court at Leningrad on September 2.
The announcement promises to unfold an elaborate British spying system in and around the Soviet since 1919, under the British agent, Captain Boyd. Altogether there are 26 persons for trial, including Goyer, an ex-officer, Sckoloft', one of the chief organisers, and a number of other Russians charged with offering shelter and assistance. —Times.
