GORE’S GALA WEEK

BIG PROGRAMME PLANNED Press Association. GORE, Monday. The gaiety gala week opened this evening. Thousands of coloured lights throughout the central area of the town transformed Gore into a veritable fairyland. A lavish programme for the week includes displays in which the school children will take possession of the main streets, children’s competitions, street dancing and monster processions, in which many bands will participate, industrial displays, a representation of the landing of Captain Cook, and burlesque competitions. Special trains are expected to carry thousands of people to Gore. The gala ends on Saturday night. Cinematograph films will be taken. The proceeds are being enthusiastically supported by the town and province.
