COMMENT ON SAMOA HIGH COMMISSIONER’S SPEECH C THE SUN’S Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Samoa was dragged back to the notice of the House to-day by Mr. J. A. Lee (Auckland Ejist), who coupled it with the name of the High Commissioner, Hon. Sir Jas. Parr. “I would like to ask the Minister of Internal Affairs,” said Mr. Lee, ‘’whether it would not be possible for his
department to curb the present High Commissioner in some way. The other day he made a statement on Samoa which, as I read it, appeared to be hardly correct. I think that the Minister should suggest to the High Commissioner that before he breaks out into the public Press he should make sure that what he says is correct.” “We’ll draw his attention to the fact that he is speaking out if his turn,” said the Minister in replv. Mr. Y r . H. Potter (Roskill): You admit that? The Minister: He was speaking out of his own department.
