“RATEPAYERS’ MONEY NOT FOR SCHOOLS”
“The money of our ratepayers should not be used for donations to a school subsidised by the Government,” said Mr. J. H. Langley, at a meeting of the Alount Albert Borough Council last evening. This statement was the outcome of a letter received from the Seddon Alemorial Technical College, asking for financial assistance. The request was referred to the legal and finance committee with power to act. Air. Langley was the only supporter of his proposal that no action be taken.
