“SEND ME TO ROTO ROA”

DRUNKARD’S PLEA A PROMISE OF GAOL Edward Hall, aged 52, made his fourth appearance for drunkenness within six months at the Police Court this morning. “Send me to the Island,” he asked the magistrate, Mr. F. K. Hunt, “it’ll do me good there.” “If you come back here again I’ll send you to gaol—that's what will happen,” replied the magistrate. Hall was fined £l, in default three days’ imprisonment.
