COMPANY CEASES WORK By Cable.—Press Association.-•-Copyright SYDNEY, Monday.
After four and a-half years* work the attempt to revive the shale oil industry at the Newnes field, where £\,500,000, mostly English capital, was invested, the Commonwealth Oil Corporation has decided to cease operations there. It is understood the chief factor in the cessation is the oil war now being waged by foreign companies.—A. and N. Z.
