REFUSAL TO LOWER RENTS ITALIAN COURTS BUSY By Cable. —Press Association. —Copyright LONDON, Sunday. The Milan correspondent of “The Times” says the magistrates there are firmly dealing with landlords who fail to comply with the Government rents reduction decree. Several property owners at Turin, Trieste and Parma have been sentenced to long terms of detention owing to their resistance of the new law. Disputes between landlords and tenants are increasing daily. They have reached totals of 30,000 in Milan and 17,000 in Turin. Reductions in many instances have been granted to the extent of from 50 to 60 per cent. Great crowds have blocked the Milan courts during the hearing of tenants' appeals.—Times,
