COUNCIL TAKES OVER HENDERSON BUSES
PURCHASE OF G.O.C. LINE THE Auckland City Council ha* decided to take over the buses of Mr. R. H. Hieatt, as this service is considered in all respects identical with that of the General Omnibus Company. The council will also take over th company’s buses. When the regula tions were gazetted, reported the tram ways manager, Mr. Ford, to the Cit Council last night, this company w r a operating 26 buses. At present, how ever, it controls 36, and it was con tended that this number would hav to be taken over. Ten buses are operated by Mr. Hic*-at on the Henderson route. Mr. Ford also recommended that a: the St. Mark’s depot was an unsuitablt ««ite it should be closed and the buses nd plant transferred to the Ponaonby depot.
