ST. ANDREW’S SOCIAL The St. Andrew’s Society held a social and literary evening in the Town Hall Concert Chamber on Saturday evening. Mr. J. Shaw, a past president of the society, gave an address on “Modern Scottish Literature.” In Mr. Shaw's opinion, reviewing the younger authors, many of them are making literary history. The president, Mr. J. Barr Paterson, announced that the society would welcome the Rev. J. Barr, Labour M.P. for Motherwel, Scotland, when he arrived on July 28. Messrs. J. B. Paterson. John Barr and D. McLaren were elected provisionally to be trustees of the building fund of the society.
