Meteorological observations taken at the Albert Park Observatory at 9 a m to-day by Captain A. Davies, acting Government observer:— Barometer, 29.629 inches. Air temperature at 9 a.m., 56 degrees Temperature in shade yesterday: Maximum 54 degrees, minimum 42 degrees, maximum temperature in sun, 108 degrees. Bright sunshine yesterday, 5 hours 10 minutes. Minimum temperature on grass 36 degrees. Direction of wind at 9 a.m., S.W. Velocity wind previous 24 hours 269 miles. Rainfall during previous 24 hours 45 inches. Rainfall to date this month, 3.42 inches

YOMAH RENAMED.— The Toirnh which visited Auckland some months ago under charter to the i'ommonwealth and Dominion Line, has been bought by the Australind Steam Shinpmg Company, Ltd., and renamed the Ashburt«»*.
