A Progressive Factory. —After being in existence for five years, the Waikato Valley Dairy Factory has 850 suppliers and an output of 2,000 tons of butter. Fight in a Hotel. —Henry Lee and Edward Leen, who pleaded guilty in the Police Court this morning to charges of fighting in a city hotel bar, were each fined 30s. Disastrous Vancouver Fire. —Seven persons were burned to death in a fire which swept the upper storeys of an apartment house in Vancouver on Friday.—A. and N.Z.-Sun. Fast Cure Ends Fatally. —Mrs. Hope Leontough has died, after fasting for 55 days, in an attempt to cure indigestion.—A. and N.Z.-Sun. Fascists Exile Millionaires. —Two Turin millionaires have been sentenced to two years* exile for refusing to obey a Fascist decree to reduce rents. —A. and N.Z.-Sun. Boy Scout Service.— At St. James’s Presbyterian Church yesterday a special Bov Scout service was conducted bv the Rev. Evan R. Harries, when the ceremony of dedicating and presenting troop colours was carried out. German Fortifications Inspected.— An official communique announces that French and Belgian experts, puided by General von Fa-wets inspected Germany's eastern fortification< The experts decided that the destruction of the dugouts had heen completely carried out. —A. and 2\.A. friends at Variance. Vincent Roatica who assaulted George Saigden during a heated but friendly discussion on Saturday, appeared at the Police Court this nearning and was ordered to pay costs, no conviction being recorded.
