FROM P.O. SAVINGS

STATE ADVANCES PAYMENTS (THE SUN'S Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Friday. Mr. W. J. Jordan, Manukau, is to ask the Postmaster-General whether he will have arrangements made between his department and the State Advances Department, under which half-yearly instalments to the State Advances Department may be paid from Post Office Savings Bank accounts as is done in connection with the National Provident Fund. Many mortgagors, Mr. Jordan said, desire to save weekly amounts towards the half-yearly instalments, and if these are deposited in the Post Office Savings Bank, it necessitates loss of time and wages to make the withdrawal.
