HEALTHY BUSINESS s MINING GENERALLY IDLE Healthy business continues to be 5 recorded on the ’Change, with steady sales of the better classes of securities. ■ Business is confined chiefly to the bank, - insurance, bond and debenture sections. Auckland Gas continue in good tone, with frequent sales on a firm market. Though generally idle, coals are in good tone, with a firm demand at late quotations, and few sellers quoting. , Auckland recorded the first sale of timber scrip for some weeks this morn- • ing, when Bartholomew were reported ■ at 19s 6d. Mining is mostly idle, with Alburnia’s weakening. Waihis were dealt with at ISs 6d. 6d below last week’s market. Moanataiaris remain firm, with steady buyers at 3s and sellers 3s 6d.
