The Purpose at Olympia.

A Message to the Public of AuekJaEndL The object of the Auckland Motor Trades Association in holding this Olympia is to bring before the general public the latest models of motor vehicles being manufactured in Great Britain, United States of America, and the Continent. All the new models available will be shown so that an opportunity is given of seeing the very latest improvements m design and construction. In this connection great strides have recently been made. Particular mention may be made of the adoption by American manufacturers of Air Cleaners and Oil Purifiers. These features enable cars to be run for longer periods without decarbonising, and also permit longer periods between replenishing the oil in the sump of the motor. Another feature is the lowering of the centre of gravity, also the fitting of larger size tyres on wheels with smaller sized diameters, thereby making the wheel more rigid and at the same time giving the car better road holding qualities, particularly when cornering. British cars also show considerable improvement and the British manufacturers are now building cars in every way suitable for the conditions of this Dominion. Practically all British cars are now equipped with ample ground clearance, full width track, and power sufficient to satisfy the average motorist, at the same time giving economical running. The Motor Trades Association was formed to organise the trade so that the public may be protected. It is the aim of the motor traders, first and foremost, to give service to the public, and the Association is doing a great deal in this direction by bringing the whole of its members together and thereby giving them the hall mark of official approval. President Auckland Motor Trades Association.
