RIALTO AND REGENT, EPSOM

“SORROWS OF SATAN” “Sorrows of Satan,” which features Adolphe Menjou as Satan, Ricardo Cortez and Carol Dempster, in addition to Miss de Putti, will be shown at the Regent (Epsom), and Rialto Theatres. John Russell and George Hull adapted Marie Corelli’s novel for screen use. The love of a woman, loyal and persistent, that burns through the lures and enticements that beset man in this world, evenWally drawing him back to the real values of life—that is the romantic story told in “Sorrows of Satan.” Transferring Marie Corelli’s novel to the screen called for a decided departure from old methods. Again D. W. Griffith has brought to the art which owes him so much a technique that marks another milestone in the advancement of movng photography.
