MAORI RUGBY TOURISTS
STARS AND LESSER LIGHTS By “H. MAKARINI” Like the Maori Rugby team which recently toured overseas, the latest Maori side, which was intended to be practically the same as that which played in England and France, is a mixture of brilliant stars and indifferent nonentities. ' The most notable addition to those who were with the Maori team abroad is L. Paewai, the Hawke’s Bay, Grafton, and Auckland five-eighth, who will be sadly missed by his club while he is travelling with the tourists. The other Aucklanders are Soloman, North Shore, whose recognition is wellearned; Pelhapi, Ponsonbv, and W. Rika, the giapt forward from Tangowahine, near Dargaville. Barclay, who will captain the team, has been playing in Auckland, but is unlikely to return at the end of the tour, as he is said to be settling in Hawke’s Bay,
