Swedes bring Is to 1s 9d a bag; onions, 2s 6d to 3s 6d a bag; radishes, 6d to 9d a dozen bundles; pickling onions, Jd to 1d a lb.; celery, 9d to 4d a bundle; leeks, 2d to 4d a bundle; marrows, 2s to 3s a dozen; cabbages, 1s 6d to 4s a sack; cauliflowers, 3d to 8d each. Eggs are cheaper and bring 2s to 2s 1d a dozen in the marts. Farmers’ butter makes 1s 2d to 1s 4d a lb. Cash over the counter price for a leg of mutton in the shop is 8d a lb.; a loin of mutton, 9d a lb.; sheeps’ tongues, 3d each; rolled veal, 8d a lb.
